Volkswagen Qualification Centre, Freising

New building with efficient energy balance

Building owner: Volkswagen Group Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG, Wolfsburg

Town/City: Freising

High demands were made with regard to environmental sustainability in connection with the building services for the new Volkswagen Qualification Centre. Two KLIMANAUT 30 ventilation units provide environmentally-friendly air conditioning throughout the entire building thanks to indirect evaporation cooling, combined with heat recovery. KLIMANAUTs offer energy savings of up to 80% compared to conventional systems. Demand-led supply of fresh air is ensured by integrated CO2 sensors and the units are installed on the roof to save space.

Up to 6,000 employees from the Volkswagen dealership organisation will receive training in ten multi-purpose training rooms. Tough TOP unit heaters provide decentralised heating and ventilation throughout the training rooms and in the catering and reception area. The models fitted with KaMAX air diffusers guarantee consistent air mixing in the lofty spaces.

Diafort roof extract fans are used for controlled ventilation in the Qualification Centre. Their strengths include high-quality quiet operation, outstanding power densities and long service lives.

The various Kampmann products combine to create an intelligent system solution in the Qualification Centre. The controllers for the KLIMANAUTs are also integrated within the ventilation units. All decentralised units are controlled by two KaBUS switch cabinets installed in the plant room on the upper floor.

Portagard entrance matting from the extensive range of Kampmann entrance matting is also made-to-measure to fit in the glazed porch of the building, lending character to the prestigious entrance foyer and meeting the exacting requirements in terms of functionality.
