Genau mein Klima
Our Sustainability Strategy
Taking responsibility and acting sustainably. That is our aim in all of our business activities. While it is our core business to ensure a good indoor climate with modern air conditioning units, as a company we also see the need to make our contribution to achieving climate targets, such as the 1.5 degree target set by the Paris Climate Agreement. We do this firstly through increasingly sustainable products and by operating our sites as ecologically as possible, for example by using climate-neutral gas and electricity.
As an Emsland-based family-owned company, we also feel strongly connected to our location and our local people. Here too, we take responsibility from a sense of conviction – along our supply chain, for our employees and for the society in which we operate.
Sustainability is more than just a tiresome legislative duty: sustainability also means safeguarding the future of the company with satisfied and motivated employees, and with a future-centric and fair business strategy. But, naturally, also by achieving climate targets.
Hendrik Kampmann, Managing Director

What does the artificial climate indoors have to do with the natural climate of the world – and what do both have to do with Kampmann? Find out here.
Four pillars of sustainability
As part of our sustainability strategy, we have addressed the economic, ecological and social factors of sustainability. In order to further highlight the outstanding role of our employees, we have further sub-divided the social issues. From the three central pillars of sustainability, we thus created Kampmann’s four pillars of sustainability. In line with our core business, they are:

Eco-climate
- Corporate ecology
- Product ecology
- Sustainable self-image

Working climate
- Motivated employees
- New work
- Job security

Corporate climate
- Governmental compliance
- Risk / opportunity management
- Supply chain

Eco-climate
We support the 1.5 degree target set by the Paris Climate Agreement and wish to contribute to it. That is why we are working on our products and our sites to reduce our emissions wherever possible.
Energy and emissions
Our business operations generate emissions and therefore have an impact on the climate. We are working to reduce our carbon footprint and energy consumption, steered by our Energy team (in accordance with EN ISO 50001).
Products and innovations
We attach great importance to energy-efficient and durable products. We have also incorporated the issue of the circular economy into our sustainability efforts, and have also introduced new specifications for sustainable product design into our development systems.

Working climate
As a family-managed company, we are very aware of the needs, security, and development opportunities of our employees. This is why we have classified motivated employees as our most relevant sustainability issue.
Job security and occupational health
As a manufacturing company, a safe working environment for our employees is a top priority for Kampmann. Our aim is to maintain and promote the health of all employees in the long term.
Training and continuous education
We attach great importance to training our skilled employees. And also throughout their working lives, our employees have many different opportunities to undertake further training and education. We do this through external training courses as well as with our Kampmann Kampus seminar brand, which also delivers internal training courses.
Working at Kampmann
We cannot be successful in the long term without the commitment and constant dedication of our employees. A family-orientated approach and attractive remuneration are therefore a given at Kampmann. Participation is also called for. Our Ideas Management system gives all employees the opportunity to optimise processes and products in a continuous improvement process and in an employee suggestion system.

Corporate climate
Partnering with customers and suppliers is a key factor for our success. Binding guidelines and conduct in line with our values are therefore of particular importance in this respect.
Compliance
Our positive reputation and relationships can quickly be seriously damaged by unethical conduct or legal violations. We have therefore established different guidelines, some of which go above and beyond legal requirements.
Customer health and safety
The health and safety of our customers in operating, transporting, installing or disposing of our products is very important to us. Every year, we therefore systematically check around 80% of our product groups for potential improvements relating to customer health and safety. Our ISO 9001-certified quality management system handles this and many other issues.
Responsibility in the supply chain
For Kampmann, responsibility does not start with its own production sites. We therefore attach great importance to transparency and a high proportion of regional suppliers.
Regionality of our supply chain | |
---|---|
Lower Saxony | 22,7 % |
Germany | 63,1 % |
EU | 84,8 % |
Europe | 94,2 % |

Social climate
We would like to give something back to the society and economic region in which we operate. We therefore support social, environmental and cultural concerns, above all at our corporate headquarters in the Emsland region of Germany.
Social involvement
We support charitable and not-for-profit organisations, associations and foundations. We also promote the social involvement of our employees, for instance voluntary judges or professional qualification examiners, by paid leave of absence.
Inclusion
Kampmann supports concepts that integrate people with disabilities into economic value creation. We therefore work together with different partners to facilitate this both along our supply chain as well as directly within our company.
Inclusion at Kampmann
Employment of inclusive Kampmann employees
Integrative inclusion of supervised employees with disabilities at our site
Workshops for people with disabilities within our supply chain
