Warm rooms, condensation-free windows

With the Katherm NK, you can ensure warm rooms and condensation-free glazed facades at the same time. The trench technology uses natural convection to effectively shield window surfaces against cold air and prevent condensation from forming, while pleasantly heating the entire room. Ideal for buildings with large glazed areas without visible radiators.

Wide range of variants

The wide selection of sizes offers a suitable solution for every project. Depending on the installation situation, the trench is complemented by a colour-coordinated grille and a suitable frame edge, creating maximum flexibility in planning. Removable end pieces enable the implementation of continuous trench runs that blend harmoniously with the facade.

Various heights are available, as well as a wide selection of widths and lengths, based on required performances.

Custom-made to measure

For every building architecture with individual geometries, custom-made solutions are possible. This applies to the trench and the grille. For example, the following customised options are possible:

  • Frame edges

Short installation time

The valve connection enables quick and easy installation of the Katherm NK on site. In addition, height adjustment screws are supplied as standard and height adjustment feet that can be stepped on are included to further reduce installation time and therefore costs.

Protection during installation and construction

Our Katherm trench technology products are carefully packed in cardboard packaging for transport. The grille edge trim profiles are protected against damage by green plastic profiles. A sustainable paper cover prevents dust and dirt from entering.

As the units are often installed in the building at an early construction stage, the grille can be replaced at the factory with a wooden installation cover for their protection for an additional charge. The grilles are then supplied separately packed.

Technical highlights

Cold air screening

  • Cold air screening and residual heat coverage take place specifically by utilising the special property of natural convection.
  • The convector transfers the heat from the water to the room air, which then rises on the window side, effectively shields the cold glass surface and thus prevents the windows from misting up.

Introduction of primary air

  • Primary air or fresh air is introduced into the rooms via special supply air ducts.
  • The Katherm supply air duct ZL is available for numerous Katherm trench technology products.
  • This is a duct, that can be attached to the respective Katherm units.

Life cycle assessment data (EPD)

  • We assess the environmental impact of our products across their entire life cycle („cradle to cradle“) and publish the results transparently in our Environmental Product Declarations (EPD).
  • These EPDs can be easily integrated into leading building certification systems such as DGNB, BREEAM or LEED and are available in the download section.

Static heating requirements

  • Rooms with relatively static heating requirements, such as corridors, hotel lobbies, conservatories or living rooms, are particularly suitable for the use of Katherm NK.
  • The performance-optimised Perimeter Heating units in low-temperature and heat pump operation achieve an energy-saving mode of operation, keeping operating costs at a low level.

No noise emissions

  • The Katherm NK operates without a fan, purely with natural convection.
  • This means it can be installed particularly in noise-sensitive application areas.
