Operational safety

The Katherm QE offers a high level of safety during operation. This is ensured by the two-stage safety circuit and the grille fixing.

Electric heating coil

The Katherm QE offers a powerful electric heating solution for rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows – wherever hydronic systems are not practical or cannot be implemented.

The Katherm QE is available with a uniform trench width and height 
and is available in three trench lengths.

Custom-made solutions

For every building architecture with individual geometries, custom-made solutions are possible. This applies to the trench and the grille.

Matching roll-up grilles

Katherm QE units are supplied as ready-made heating trenches at screed height. For every installation situation, we supply the matching Optiline roll-up grilles. To match the appearance, the frame edge is also manufactured accordingly.

Protection during installation and construction period

Our Katherm trench technology products are carefully packed in cardboard packaging for transport. The grille edge trim profiles are protected against damage by green plastic profiles. A sustainable paper cover prevents dust and dirt from entering.

As Katherm QE units are often installed in the building at an early construction stage, they should be covered on site with wooden boards or similarly stable material to protect them from mechanical damage.

Touch protection

The grille of the Katherm QE serves as touch protection. It is factory-fixed and can only be removed with a tool.

Technical highlights

High heat output without pumped hot water

  • Katherm QE units with electric heating coil are the ideal solution for rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows where the use of a convector with pumped hot water cannot be implemented or is uneconomical.
  • The high heat output is supported by an energy-saving EC tangential fan while maintaining a low sound level.

High operational safety

  • An integrated safety chain consisting of a safety thermostat and thermal fuse ensures safe operation with low grille surface temperatures in the event of improper operation.
  • The safety circuit is 2-stage (mechanical and electrical).
  • For touch protection, the trenches are also equipped with a factory-mounted grille fixing. 

Certified to CE

  • The Katherm QE meets the required safety directives and is UK CA certified
  • The measurement-based determination of the heat output characteristic curve and the safety functions, proportional to the control voltage, was carried out taking the relevant standards into account.

Control options

Electromechanical control

This variant is ideal for simple applications. All integrated actuators are factory-wired to a terminal and can be connected to our electromechanical accessories such as thermostats or external controllers.

Design grilles

Various versions in material and colour. Can be used on both sides. Shortening and extensions are also possible.
